DEB MATHESON

NAME: Deb Matheson

NUMBER: 99

POSITION: Team convenor

SHOOTS: From the hip

BORN: Toronto

NICKNAME: Mathey, Mathematician, Flip Top

BIO: Allegedly an employee of Toronto's hipster weekly, NOW, in fact Matheson is an essential component of the Stokes championship run. As team convenor, her ability to get players to actually appear at games and, most importantly, the right rink was a key element in the Stokes cup winning victory and remains an important part of the championship defense. Only Stokeser who knows what DTMHL stands for her, ability to decipher the cryptic communiques from the league head office has freed the team's managerial staff to concentrate on personnel issues. Witnessed the legendary Stokes/Morningstars playoff game that was immortalized in the McLelland and Stewart book The Tropic of Hockey (IBSN# 37585696). Matheson was convinced "nice guy" Jim Cuddy was bending to assist fallen Morningstar Dave Bidini until the defenseman's head began snapping back after repeated thrusts of the singer's fist.
