BIO: Longtime fans will be surprised to know that ‘Shorty’ did not get his nickname because of the incredibly tiny dog, Mooshi, that he and Mrs. Shorty, Julie, share but is instead a play on his family name, Short. This U of T grad put the D in Ph.D. as a member of the Varsity Blues and now with the Black Stokes. League MVP both for the 2003-2004 regular season and the Stokes’ victorious championship run, Shorty handles the puck like a TA juggling term papers. As long as the league keeps loading him up with folding chairs and Julie doesn’t book any Caribbean surprises during the playoff run, expect big things from the short man in the years ahead.
